With grades 1–5, English and Hindi were about giving kids voice. Early grades needed lots of phonics, _matras_, and oral work. By grades 4–5 we were doing book clubs, journaling, and presentations in both languages. SST was my tool to connect language to life — we’d read a Hindi story about a festival, discuss its history in SST, then write about it in English. The age span kept me flexible: concrete and playful for the little ones, more inquiry-driven for the older ones.
