Reduction Division in Various Plants:

• Liverwort: Reduction division (meiosis) takes place in the sporophyte stage of the life cycle.
• Moss: Reduction division occurs in the sporophyte stage, specifically within the sporangium located at the tip of the sporophyte.
• Fern: Reduction division occurs in the sporophyte stage within specialized structures called sporangia located on the underside of fronds.
• Gymnosperm: Reduction division takes place in the sporophyte generation within the sporangia present on the sporophylls.
• Angiosperm: Reduction division occurs in the sporophyte generation within the ovules, which are enclosed within the ovary of the flower.

Economic Importance of Algae and Gymnosperms:

Difference Between Gymnosperms and Angiosperms: While both gymnosperms and angiosperms bear seeds, they are classified separately due to differences in their reproductive structures. Gymnosperms produce  seeds that are not enclosed within a fruit, while angiosperms produce seeds enclosed within a fruit.
