Trained in Western Classical Music from an early age of 8. Learning and working under reputed teachers like Mr. Sam Engineer, Mrs. Roshan Gazder and Mr. Suddhaseel Sen has helped improve my practical and theoretical skills.
Pursuing my theory education, I had completed till Grade 5 of the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music, London and have excelled in all the examinations I have sat for, obtaining distinction in all of the above. Grade 5, being considered as a Junior diploma level in theory gives me a cutting edge as I am able to comprehend Music better.
Along with my Music Theory, I have also sat for two Piano examinations conducted by the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music. I have been able to secure a distinction in my Grade 2 examination and fell short of a distinction by 2 marks to secure a Merit in my Grade 4 examination. The piano examination consists of different aspects of application of music like Sight Reading, Ear Tests, Playing pieces, scales, arpeggios, etc. which are essential for a musician. I stopped giving examinations after Grade 4 to work on more music rather than being stuck with learning just 3 pieces a year.
Wanting to broaden my horizons in Music, I have also given several examinations in the field of Keyboard conducted by Surnandan Bharati. I have given examinations from Part 1-3 and Years 1-7, which totals to 10 examinations starting from a very basic level. I have secured distinction in all of the examinations. I was able to improve my repertoire as a musician while training for these examinations as I learned Indian Classical Music.
Also, I've been accepted to the Berklee College of Music and wish to attend the college from Summer 2016.
