I am an alumni of Indian Statistical Institute. I passed B.Stat(Hons) in 1975 and M.Stat in 1976. After that I did Computer Science diploma from ISI in 1977. I worked in software industry for first nine years of my career, then I moved to Public Sector Undertaking - Hindustan Cables Ltd. and Hindustan Paper corporation. In 2005 I moved to academics. I joined Neotia institute of technology and worked as Professor of Computer Science and Engineering till 2018. I completed my PhD in 2019 in Business management in Systems, my work was in Computer Security. I joined IIT Kharagpur in a government of India project in 2018, completed my tenure in December 2024.

I taught the following subjects in the institute:
Theory of Computation and Automata theory
Compiler Design
Data Mining
Database management system
Analysis of Algorithms
Data Structures
Object oriented programming and Java
C programming
Statistics
Operating system etc.

I also teach Mathematics to school students class 8 to 11/12
