Every point has its position vector w. r. t to some reference frame. But if the position of an object changes, then the difference between the final position vector to the initial position vector can be represented by its displacement vector. Example: If Ra and Rb are the position vectors of the initial and final position of an object, then Rb -Ra gives displacement vector; whereas Ra and Rb are the position vector.
If the initial and final position of an object is the same, then its displacement vector becomes zero vector. But the position vector never is zero vector.
