Shaswati Chatterjee - Music Teacher

Online Classes Online Classes
Started teaching Hindustani Classical Vocal since last 3 years. I conduct classes online through Skype teaching the knowledge acquired over the years from my Gurus and use my own learning to help the beginners with the basics of classical music, teaching the right ways of riyaaz, ways to improve voice range and other basics which mostly overlooked. While working on basics I teach Raagas. Music is my passion and look forward to building the same among my students. Sur Taal are the two major pillars and as my Guruji says if sur is water taal is the vessel which has to carry the water.

I am 62 Year old starts learning music online from my beloved Shaswati Chatterjee for the first time I understand all these terms of swara , saptak and lay, The ornaments and beauty of music. Very short time learned very interesting lessons of the basics of music and Grammar of Music very sweet and ornamented narration liked charm and liveliness, very useful for a non-musical person to appreciate the intricacies of Indian classic music. I have learnt a lot about these beautiful swara embellishments through classes.

Teaching Experience in detail in Vocal Music classes

Started teaching Hindustani Classical Vocal since year 2014. It has been an enriching experience sharing the valuable knowledge acquired over the years from my Gurus. Sur and Taal are the main pillars of singing, so along with training on Sur I give equal emphasis and importance on Taal training from beginning. I have students from India, USA, Saudi from age group of 6 years to 60 years providing me great teaching experience. Some of my students are first timers whereas some have learnt earlier. It gives immense pleasure and satisfaction seeing them improve after joining my classes. Refer to my you tube channel shaswatich.
