Parag 'Praggy' Mitra is a Kolkata,India based drummer and percussionist primarily known as the drummer of an Alternative/Post Grunge/�­Hindi-Rock act,Siixthveda since 2009.Known for his consistent & versatile playing skills,he is one of the most eminent drummers in the town.He started playing the drums as a teenager and persued it as a profession by the age of 20.His playing influences come from different genres of music ranging from Alternative,Grunge,Glam Rock to Jazz and Indian Folk & Classical, and from drummers such as Nicco mc'brain,Omar hakim,Mike portnoy,Gavin Harrison,Chad smith, and many more.Parag mostly had a self-learning approach towards music, but his close mate,guide & mentor and a notable Indian drummer ,Gourav 'Gaboo' Chatterjee helped him a lot with his lessons in the early days.He started his career as a professional drummer in the year of 2003,and since then, as a freelance session drummer, he has recorded and played live for renowned Kolkata based Bengali bands like Abhilasha,Parashpath�­or,Moruddyan,Brahma,�­Aatma,Alokbarsha and solo artists like Shamik,Rupankar etc.He toured USA with the bengali solo performer,Shamik in the year of 2008.Parag has made a mark of his own in the music industry and longs to 'Rock n' Roll' his way to higher levels of success !
