Dulal Saha

I am a structural engineer and have recently moved back to Kolkata after 35+ years of working experience in designing onshore and offshore structures with various reputed national and international companies in India and abroad. I wish to share my experience with the younger generation of structural engineers here by taking a few students from your institution for part-time project work on industrial and offshore structures with me. Please note that I am a resident of Newt own now. I completed my B.E. in Civil Engineering in 1978 at the Bengal Engineering College in Howrah, and my M.Tech. in Stress Analysis at IITD. My M.Tech. thesis resulted in two publications on the effect of distributed loads on space frames in the journal Computer Structures. I am also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (FIE), a Fellow of Institution of Structural Engineers (FI(Struct.)E), and a Chartered Engineer (C Eng) in India.

I spent around 16 yearsat Engineers India Ltd. (EIL) in New Delhi in a supervisory position with regards to several important projects in India as well as abroad consisting of but not limited to designing refineries, petrochemical, cement, and aluminum plants, and building structures on onshore sites, along with several offshore structures at Bombay High.
