A postgraduate in History from Calcutta University, I started my career as a teacher in Kendriya Vidyalaya, where my work as an educator was recognized and I was awarded the National Award in Education in 2007. My purpose in life is to engage, educate and empower. With a deep desire to impart digital literacy in the country, I have often brought about innovations in my classroom sphere.
I was also selected as one of India's top educators to represent the country in the Microsoft Teacher Training Program in Seattle, USA and Prague, Czech Republic in various years in different capacities. I have also been fortunate to visit Tokyo, Japan on 3 separate occasions for an Exchange Program organized by the Ministry of HRD. Over the years, I have gained expertise in the domains of child rights, women's rights, and adolescent development and have conducted teacher training programs in various parts of the country. In 2007, I published a book called Candy Floss: A Guide Book for Adolescent Development. I have also been invited by NCERT, to develop the curriculum of key social studies textbooks for school students.
