Online Classes I joined Arindam Sir's online photography workshop with the hope of improving my photography skills, but I ended up learning much more than that. The workshop taught me how to observe, appreciate details, and find stories in everyday moments. His insights on aesthetics, visual composition, and storytelling were eye-opening. The sessions made me think more deeply about why I take a photograph and what I want to communicate through it. The content was practical, inspiring, and filled with valuable examples from real-life photography. The workshop has definitely influenced the way I approach photography today. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to develop a more thoughtful and artistic perspective behind the camera.

Teaching Experience in detail in Photography
I am a documentary photographer and photojournalist with more than 25 years of professional experience in photography and visual storytelling. Over the years, I have worked extensively on documentary, street, travel and heritage photography projects across India, photographing diverse cultures, communities and everyday life. My work has been published in international and Indian publications including BBC, National Geographic, Newsweek, Al Jazeera, The Sunday Times, India Today and The Times of India. My teaching experience includes mentoring aspiring photographers at Pixel Village, where I guided participants in documentary photography, street photography, visual storytelling and the development of long-term photographic projects. Through both formal mentoring and one-on-one guidance, I have helped students build technical skills, improve their photographic vision and develop confidence in their work. My classes cover the fundamentals of photography, including camera handling, exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, composition, lighting and visual design. Beyond technical knowledge, I focus on observation, timing, storytelling and understanding how photographs can communicate ideas and emotions. Students learn not only how to make a technically correct image but also how to create photographs that have meaning and impact. Depending on the student's interests, classes may include street photography techniques, documentary practice, travel photography, image editing, photo selection, sequencing and portfolio development. I encourage students to explore their own interests and develop a personal visual style rather than simply copying established approaches. My teaching is highly practical and draws upon real-world experience gained through years of professional photography. I use examples from assignments and documentary projects to demonstrate concepts and encourage critical thinking about photography. Whether working with complete beginners or experienced photographers seeking to strengthen their storytelling abilities, my goal is to provide clear guidance, constructive feedback and a supportive learning environment that helps students grow both technically and creatively.

"Joining Arindam Sir's online photography workshop was one of the best learning experiences I've had. The workshop was not just about photography techniques but about understanding the art behind a photograph. His sessions on aesthetics, visual balance, and storytelling helped me see images in a completely new way. What stood out most was how he encouraged us to think about the emotions and stories behind every frame rather than simply focusing on camera settings. The examples, feedback, and discussions made the learning process engaging and inspiring. I came away with a stronger creative vision and a deeper appreciation for photography as a medium of expression. Highly recommended for anyone looking to elevate their photography beyond the technical aspects. "

"At a strange time, I went to him just to understand why I was taking the picture. What happens when I take a picture? What is the motivation behind taking a picture? Why do I have to take a picture? Many such things. For someone who sees photography as a place of intellectual hunger or a profession that nourishes their soul and stomach, I might have gone to Arindam Da. I have faith that newcomers will soon understand the moment of great struggle or the cinematic format in a picture. In fact, Arindam Mukherjee has changed my eyes and the way I see. I try to surpass myself. I think photography is about nurturing ourselves in the environment of images, music, and text that we live in. "

"Arindam Mukherjee is a master storyteller behind the lens, but as a student, I’ve found his real magic is in how he teaches. His foundation is conventional — he insists on ethics, patience, and respect for the subject. Yet his actual method is entirely unconventional, transcending traditional classroom structures. He doesn’t believe the classroom owns learning. With Arindam, it happens formally during structured critiques, but mostly informally, driven by his rich personal experiences. There is no podium, no one-way lectures, and it goes far beyond standard collaborative discussion. Instead, his teaching thrives on the spirit of a true, intellectual adda—passionate, unstructured, and deeply engaging conversations where ideas flow freely. It is completely student-centric. He starts with our work, our doubts, our stories, and then weaves in insights from his own journey behind the lens. These adda sessions are friendly, sharp, and honest. He asks, “What did you feel before you clicked?” “Who gets to tell this story?” He listens more than he instructs, using his seasoned perspective to push us to question, to unlearn, and to see the world before the frame. Under his guidance, documentary photography stops being about perfect technique. It becomes about empathy, voice, and responsibility. "
