corporal punishment is banned, you might end up in jail incase the parents are too protective. You can easily manipulate a student by telling him about the dark sides of the society. I'll give you an example.. I have a student who is in class 9 and he's too much into TV and games and skips his homeworks and assignments. As a result he scored average in his last semester. I knew I had to punish this child in such a way that it affects him in a positive way.. so I gave him a 30 minutes moral lecture in which I told him how the society thinks marks are a parameter of intelligence, importance of marks in a third world country with crippling poverty and overwhelming population and last but not the least how the opposite gender would always value someone more accomplished and devoted. He got so intimidated that he scored more than 80% this semester. lol
