Sounds like now would be the ideal time for you to start preparing for CAT. It takes about a year of focused preparation to crack the exam for an average individual. Also, if you finish preparing early, you'll have the scope to sit for at least 2 exams consecutively, so that you can work on bettering your percentiles. The longer you prepare, the higher will be your chances to improve your percentile and get into the top business management institutes.

For a Commerce graduate, banking is the best fit. It would be best if you wrote the govt—banking exams. You might also consider other govt—industries like the railways, the power-generating industries or others where they require accountants. There are lots of opportunities if you keep your eyes on the news. There is a lot of competition too, so to crack these exams, you need to prepare well.

Hi Chetan!
Since my husband and I both are in academics, we are grappling with the same problem, and it took some time to figure out.
For lower classes, if you want to use a writing media to explain the concepts better, and if you don't have the space/provision of a whiteboard at home, you can go for the Wacom tablet. These tablets come with an electronic pen and are very handy to use. They also come very cheap (within 3-4K bucks) and are useful for online teaching, especially if you need to write to explain the concepts better.
