Suraj Tripathi - Let's crack IIT-JEE, 8 years, Msc

Hello everyone!

My name is Suraj Tripathi. I hold an M.Sc. in Mathematics, an M.Sc. in Electronics, and a B.Ed., having completed my education in Kanpur.

For nearly 10 years, I have been teaching Mathematics for IIT-JEE aspirants. During this journey, I have had the opportunity to work in different states across India and interact with students from diverse academic backgrounds.

Among all my professional experiences, working in Kolkata and Goa has been particularly memorable.

But my journey is not just about degrees, experience, or professional achievements. It is a story of learning from mistakes, overcoming weaknesses, and continuously improving myself.

My Learning Journey

I still remember my school days. During my early classes, my understanding of Mathematics was not particularly strong. However, things started changing in Classes 9 and 10 as I began learning more seriously and gradually improved.

In Class 11, I made mistakes too. I did not focus as much as I should have. Later, I joined coaching and started working harder, but managing the syllabus and preparing effectively for competitive examinations was not easy.

My examination results were not as good as I had hoped.

But there was one thing I never gave up on: LEARNING.

During my graduation, I started teaching. Preparing lessons for students meant that I had to study and understand the concepts myself before entering the classroom.

I had to teach Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. This responsibility pushed me to study harder, strengthen my fundamentals, and develop a deeper understanding of all three subjects.

Gradually, my knowledge improved, and so did my confidence.

Today, I teach Mathematics for IIT-JEE, one of India’s most challenging engineering entrance examinations.

Several of my students have qualified for IIT-JEE and are doing well in their academic and professional journeys.

Looking back, I realize that teaching has also been one of my greatest learning experiences.

Four Lessons My Journey Has Taught Me

1. There is no age limit for learning.

You may not learn something at the right time, but that does not mean you cannot learn it later. The willingness to improve matters more than the time you start.

2. Your failures do not define your future.

My marks were not what I had expected, but I continued studying and learning. That habit of continuous improvement has become one of my greatest strengths.

3. Mastery requires consistent practice.

Whether it is Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or any other field, theoretical knowledge alone is not enough. Conceptual clarity, practical application, and regular practice are essential.

4. A good teacher never stops being a student.

Every question asked by a student gives us an opportunity to think deeper, revisit concepts, and improve our own understanding.

My Message to Students

If you are struggling with Mathematics, getting low marks, or feeling that you are falling behind others, do not lose hope.

Identify your mistakes. Strengthen your concepts. Practise regularly. Give yourself time to improve.

Your greatest weakness today can become your greatest strength tomorrow.

My journey is still continuing. Even today, I strive to deepen my understanding of Mathematics and find better ways to explain concepts to my students.

For me, teaching is not merely a profession. It is an opportunity to keep learning, share knowledge, and contribute to the future of young minds.

I believe that if you approach anything with sincerity, patience, and consistent effort, you can achieve remarkable progress.
