Teaching Experience – Keyboard & Piano I’m AJ Benjamin, a passionate Keyboardist and Piano Tutor with 10+ years of playing and performing experience and 5+ years of teaching experience. I have taught students through music classes, academies, studios and individual lessons. 🎼 My Teaching Approach: I provide simple, structured and practical lessons for students of all ages and skill levels, including complete beginners with no prior knowledge of music or keyboard/piano. I primarily use a Western-style approach with letter names (A, B, C) and numerical systems, making concepts easy to understand and apply. 🧠 Students can learn: • Music fundamentals, scales, intervals and rhythm • Keyboard/Piano techniques, finger exercises and coordination • Chord theory and chord construction • Major, minor, diminished and augmented chords • Intermediate & advanced chords • Chord extensions (7th, 9th, 11th & 13th) • Chord inversions and voicings • Chord progressions and harmonic understanding • Accompaniment patterns and practical playing • Ear training and musical listening skills • Song breakdowns and playing songs independently • Popular Bollywood songs and other styles according to the student’s interests 🌱 My focus is not just on memorising songs, but on helping students understand music and develop practical skills, confidence and creativity. 👥 All ages and backgrounds are welcome, whether learning as a hobby, starting from scratch, improving existing skills, or progressing towards an intermediate or advanced level. 🎶 My goal is to make learning simple, enjoyable, practical and effective.
