As a mathematician who learnt medicine as well, I actually worked at a tuition centre. I would have to say that students today no longer appreciate the power of learning until you revoke it from them. When I had rascals in my class, I would simply look at them with a deadly glance into their eyes and would tell them “I’d stop teaching if you want.” They would shrug it off until they started talking again and I would walk out on them. Regardless of the fact that other paragons in the class did actually pay attention. Then they would shout back in a worried tone, “I want my parents to get their money back if you don’t teach me.” I may seem like a dick by doing this, but reality is cold and painful, no one will wait for you until you're ready to improve yourself.
