"We visited Jaipur for a week and had engaged Abhimanyu for conducting Yoga sessions every morning for us. Our group included 3 generations of the family from a 7yr old to a couple in 40s and 4 senior citizens. Abhimanyu was always on time and was very attentive to the form and limitations of each of us. He crafted the sessions very meticulously so that all of us could do the session together despite different levels of experience with Yoga. He himself seemed quite proficient in Yoga and surely has a lot to offer for long term students. Overall a great experience and a special highlight of our family vacation in Jaipur! :) "

Iyengar Yoga is a form of yoga as exercise with a focus on the structural alignment of the physical body through the practice of asanas. It differs from other styles of yoga in three ways: precision, sequence and use of props. Precision is sought in body alignment in every asana.

Iyengar began teaching yoga as exercise gradually, starting with individual pupils such as the violinist Yehudi Menuhin, whom he met in 1952; Menuhin's fame helped to propel Iyengar Yoga as a brand in the Western world.

So, if you want to know “Is Iyengar yoga good for weight loss?”, or “is pranayama good for weight loss?”, then the answer is YES. But, of course, they only work if you keep at your yoga or pranayama, or both, or start practising them.
