IdentityI am writing to express my interest in applying for a postdoctoral position in reactive materials at your laboratory. I have submitted my PhD thesis from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering under the supervision of Prof. G V S Nageswara Rao, National Institute of Technology Warangal, India. My PhD thesis is centred on structure-property correlation in thermomechanically processed India-specific reduced activation ferritic martensitic (INRAFM) steel by using advanced microstructural and mechanical characterisation. I have reviewed your profile, and your research area, “fabrication, characterisation, and application of reactive and structural materials,” matches my interests.
I have done my M. Tech in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (Materials Technology), during which I completed a significant project, which provided hands-on experience in materials characterisation and mechanical testing. I have developed a clear vision of my research interests during my M. Tech, which combined with my passion for deepening my knowledge, motivated me to pursue a Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. This decision reflects my commitment to advancing my expertise and making meaningful contributions to the field through focused research. My PhD project is titled “Investigations on microstructure, tensile and creep deformation behaviour of thermomechanically treated India-specific reduced activation ferritic martensitic steel” aimed to understand the role of thermomechanical processing on microstructural features and mechanical properties such as tensile, creep deformation behaviour and fatigue response of an INRAFM steel.
