Teaching young learners is both a challenge and a joy. During my experience of teaching English and Social Science to students from Classes I to V, I discovered that children at this stage are full of curiosity, imagination, and energy to learn new things. However, their tender age requires special strategies to make complex ideas simple and understandable.To bridge this gap, I often used real-life stories and practical examples that children could easily connect with. I simplified concepts through step-by-step explanations and, whenever needed, supported learning in their mother tongue to ensure clarity. This not only made lessons relatable but also helped students overcome hesitation in grasping new topics.To keep the sessions lively and interactive, I designed short quizzes, quick revisions, and activity-based learning modules. These strategies kept students engaged, encouraged participation, and improved their retention of knowledge. I also prepared age-appropriate curriculum plans that balanced learning with enjoyment, so that children did not feel burdened but instead developed a natural interest in the subjects.My teaching approach focused not just on delivering lessons, but on cultivating curiosity, confidence, and communication skills among young learners. I believe that making education joyful at the foundational level creates a strong base for lifelong learning.
