Why is the veena considered the queen of Indian classical music instruments?

Answer 
Nadham on a veena if played well, resembles very close to the human voice, while singing Indian classical music. So it is considered the best instrument closer to human voice.

Yes you can do it...... You can become a good singer.... But to become profession you need 6 to 7 years of practice
Can you play tabla with Carnatic sangeet and Mridangam with Hindustani sangeet?
Answer is Yes.. nothing prevents. But the beauty of music comes with the respective instruments
