To crack the GATE exam effectively: 1. Understand the Syllabus: Thoroughly go through the GATE syllabus for your specific engineering discipline. Prioritize important topics like Mathematics, Engineering Sciences, and core technical subjects. 2. Create a Study Plan: Divide your preparation into phases. Start with building strong fundamentals, then move to complex topics and problem-solving. Follow a daily and weekly schedule. 3. Use Standard Books: Rely on standard textbooks and reference materials. Stick to a few reliable sources rather than scattered books. 4. Practice Regularly: Solve previous years' question papers and take mock tests to improve your speed, accuracy, and exam pattern familiarity. 5. Time Management: Practice time-bound problem-solving to ensure you can complete the exam within the allotted time. 6. Revise Frequently: Make sure to revise regularly to reinforce concepts and remember formulas. 7. Focus on Weak Areas: Identify weak subjects or topics and spend extra time improving them. 8. Stay Consistent and Motivated: Maintain consistent study habits and stay motivated. Breaks and a healthy routine are equally important. By focusing on understanding concepts deeply and practicing consistently, you will be well-prepared for the GATE exam. read less

The GATE exam is considered tough, primarily due to its depth and focus on core engineering concepts. Here are some reasons why: 1. Complexity of Questions: The exam tests not only theoretical knowledge but also practical problem-solving skills. It includes both multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical answer-type (NAT) questions, which require a high level of analytical thinking. 2. Wide Syllabus: GATE covers a broad syllabus, including fundamental subjects from undergraduate engineering courses across mathematics, core engineering disciplines, and some general aptitude. 3. High Competition: With over 5 lakh candidates each year, the competition is intense, making it a challenge to secure a good rank. 4. Time Pressure: The limited time to solve a vast number of questions adds to the challenge, requiring both speed and accuracy. Overall, while GATE is tough, consistent preparation with focus on concepts, practice, and time management can significantly improve your performance. read less

Coaching for the GATE exam is not mandatory, but it can be helpful for some candidates. Here’s why: 1. Guidance and Structured Approach: Coaching institutes provide a structured study plan, expert guidance, and a competitive environment, which can be beneficial for focused preparation. 2. Time Management and Strategy: Coaching centers often help students with effective time management, exam strategies, and shortcuts, which can be useful in a time-bound exam like GATE. 3. Doubt Resolution: Having access to experienced mentors for resolving doubts can speed up the learning process and help clarify complex topics. However, many students have successfully cracked GATE with self-study by using online resources, books, and previous years’ papers. The key to success lies in consistency, proper planning, and practice. Some top scorers emphasize self-discipline, quality study material, and solving mock tests regularly. Ultimately, whether coaching is required depends on your learning style, discipline, and preference for self-study or guided instruction. read less

We recently had our 11th final examinations, as we were leaving the school after our physics exam, the physics teacher from coaching calls him and discusses all the questions with him from the paper even though this boy hadnt asked for it, That really makes me sad as to how they underestimate and undermine weak students...
