Teaching Experience in detail in Class I-V Tuition

As part of my role as a peer tutor, I worked with younger students in Grades 1 through 5, supporting them in foundational subjects such as mathematics, science, and basic reading and writing skills. My primary goal was to make learning fun, engaging, and easy to understand for children in this age group, many of whom learn best through pictures, colours, and movement. To do this, I used a visual-first teaching style that relied on: Colourful diagrams to show math steps like addition, subtraction, and simple fractions using relatable objects like pizza slices, candies, or toys. Short animated videos to explain science topics like the water cycle, plant growth, and basic human anatomy in a way that kept their attention. Graphic storytelling to help with reading comprehension—using comic strips, picture charts, and simple scene breakdowns to help them remember key parts of a story. Step-by-step visual instructions for grammar and writing exercises, such as forming sentences, using punctuation, and understanding verbs and nouns. Many of the kids I worked with were easily distracted or found reading and numbers overwhelming. By using visuals and interactive content, I helped them feel more confident and curious about learning. I also made sure to repeat key ideas in different forms—like turning a science fact into a drawing or acting out a math problem—to help them remember it better. This experience helped me become more empathetic and creative as a communicator. It also taught me how to break down complex ideas into bite-sized, kid-friendly parts using tools that young children naturally connect with—pictures, movement, and stories.
