Krishnendu Halder

Krishnendu Halder is an award-winning photojournalist, painter, and media educator with over 24 years of experience in visual storytelling. A graduate of the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata, and a seasoned contributor to leading global and national publications—including Reuters,The Times of India , Microsoft, India Today, The New York Times, The Guardian, and BBC—his work captures the emotion, culture, and pulse of contemporary life through powerful imagery.

In addition to his professional assignments, Krishnendu has mentored a wide spectrum of budding visual story teller across India. As a lead mentor for Samsung India, he conducted numerous Art and photography workshops aimed at educating users on mobile photography and visual composition, empowering both professionals and enthusiasts to tell stronger visual stories.

He is the Founder and Chief Mentor of 9 Blocks Photography and School of Photography, an initiative that combines field-based learning with fine arts aesthetics. Under his leadership, the institute has trained aspiring photographers not just in camera techniques but also in ethical storytelling, client interaction, and industry readiness.

A passionate artist as well, Krishnendu has exhibited his watercolor and mixed-media works in multiple galleries, and his paintings have found space in curated art collections. Whether through the lens or brush, his work continues to blend emotion, observation, and narrative depth.

Krishnendu currently teaches Mass Media and Fine Arts at Pallavi International School( Network of Delhi Public School) and regularly mentors at Universities like The English and Foreign Language University (EFLU), Osmania University, JNTU, NIFT, and the University of Hyderabad. His mission remains clear: to transform amateurs into confident storytellers equipped for both creative satisfaction and professional success.
