I have a passion for helping distressed people to de-stress. While pursuing this goal I realized that in order to reach out methodically and to get a more positive result out of my sessions I need to be qualified and trained professionally.
I have earned Masters in Sociology from Ram Manohar Lohiya A vast University, Faizabad and M.B.A. in Education Management from Alagappa University. I have also pursued Nursery Teachers Training Course. Besides that I have also pursued two certificate courses, one in Counselling and Psychology and the other one in Mental Health from Royale Institution. And I am currently pursuing Masters in Psychology from IGNOU.
I have 7 and half years experience of working as a Teacher, Soft Skills and Personality Development Trainer, and Psycho-social Counsellor and Therapist. I am fond of teaching. I have been a teacher and trainer and facilitator in the first half of my career contour. Apart from teaching, I was engaged in various activities related to the comprehensive development of the school I was associated with and its pupils and the ones whom I have provided tuition. As a Soft Skills and Personality Development Trainer, I am experienced in coaching at all levels, including senior executives. My specialised subjects include leadership and management, team building, motivation and self-esteem, coaching, change, basic etiquettes, stress management, anxiety management, emotional intelligence and strategic planning, and a range of other soft skills courses. Along with that, as a corporate trainer and teacher, I have rendered classroom-problem solving skills, training on soft skills, hands-on practical training on how to teach students and to create the school environment child-friendly to the school teachers and the students pursuing B.T.C., B.Ed., N.T.T., etc. I create vibrant and effective learning environment which meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and creative needs of pupils. Being familiar with a variety of approaches to teaching pupils I utilize creative skills to design and implement well-designed program structure. I establish rapport with students and their parents and effectively counsel them when needed. As a Psycho-social Counsellor and Therapist, I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults in areas of general counselling (for stress, anger, anxiety, depression, etc.), child counselling, adolescent counselling, inter-personal or couple counselling, etc. With multi-facet insight to understand the niche and typicality of the patients, I provide support, psychotherapies with several other supportive therapies, referrals and advocacy for Mental Disorders such as Schizophrenia, Mood Disoders - Bipolar I, II; Depression; Anxiety Disoders; Self-mutilation; Psychosomatic Disoders; Family and relationship issues; Abuses; Conflicts between groups; etc. My forte is non-judgemental counselling in a comfortable environment that helps clients to heal, grow with confidence and live better.
I primarily follow 'client-centric' approach, but also work in an 'eclectic way, which means, I take elements of several different models and combine them while working with clients. I strongly advocate Positive Psychology and I am passionate about enhancing my client's well-being and helping them to live a more fulfilling life. I believe in the humanistic view that every person has the right to and has the potential of 'self-actualization'; and can definitely achieve that with the help of counselling.
