The alphabetical table of Hindi is called ‘Varnmala’ meaning ‘garland of letters’. Approximately 77% of Indians can read, write, speak or understand Hindi. Hindi is an Indo-European language and is a standardised form of Hindustani, along with Urdu. Hindi is spoken by 366 million people across the world. English has borrowed a great number of words from Hindi. Each letter of the Hindi alphabet has its own independent and distinct sound. read less
