In this course, you'll learn how to code in JS, a flexible and powerful programming language used all over the web. Some of the most popular Internet companies like Facebook and Twitter extensively use JS to add functionality to and enhance their websites.
This course is designed for people who have no prior programming knowledge. You will learn fundamental programming concepts through JS by applying what you've learned from working through the guided programming exercises. Once you're done with this course, you can try out projects in Code Garage.
Take a look at the black box on this page. It's called a console, and it's where you'll type and run JS code. When you type in a line of code and press Enter, the console reads your instruction, evaluates it, and displays ("prints") the result for you to see. If you write code that doesn't work, you'll get an error message. You'll be using LearnStreet's interactive JS console in the first few lessons in order to get familiar with writing code. Later, you'll move to a code editor, which allows you to write longer blocks of code.
