As simple as i tell u....
Lakshdweep is an island as because we know that an island is any part of sub-continental land that is surrounded by water. And lakshdweep follows this so it is an island.
And coast is defined as the the area where land meets the sea or ocean so by this surely the lakshdweep can't be a coast.
