This is the phase where the cell grows, performs normal functions, and prepares to divide. It is divided into three subphases:
The cell grows rapidly.
Synthesizes proteins and organelles.
Performs regular metabolic activities.
Prepares for DNA replication.
Key point: No DNA replication yet; just growth.
S Phase (Synthesis):
• DNA is replicated (each chromosome is copied).
• By the end, the cell has double the DNA, but still the same number of chromosomes (they’re just duplicated).
Key point: DNA synthesis/replication happens here.
G² Phase (Gap 2):
• The cell continues to grow.
• It produces the proteins and structures needed for mitosis (M phase).
• Checks for DNA damage and repairs it.
Key point: Final preparation before division.
2. M Phase (Mitosis Phase)
This is where the actual cell division occurs. It is divided into two parts:
- Mitosis (nuclear division)
- Cytokinesis (cytoplasmic division)
Mitosis is divided into 4 main stages:
🔹 Prophase:
• Chromatin condenses into visible chromosomes.
• Each chromosome has two sister chromatids joined at a centromere.
• The nuclear envelope breaks down.
• Spindle fibers begin to form.
🔹 Metaphase:
• Chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell (called the metaphase plate).
• Spindle fibers attach to the centromere of each chromosome.
🔹 Anaphase:
• Sister chromatids are pulled apart by spindle fibers to opposite sides of the cell.
• Each side gets an identical set of chromosomes.
🔹 Telophase:
• Chromosomes begin to uncoil back into chromatin.
• Nuclear envelopes reform around each set of chromosomes.
• Spindle fibers disappear.
Cytokinesis (usually overlaps with telophase):
• The cytoplasm divides, forming two daughter cells.
• Each cell has an identical set of chromosomes.

Valency of carbon is 4 as it has 6 atomic number. Carbons can join to each other to form long chains atoms of other elements can then attach to the chain. It can be linked by single, double and triple covalent bonds. It can also arrange themselves in rings.

short explaination is ,
G1 phase is also called growth phase where growth takes place and s phase is also called synthesis phase where DNA synthesis occurs and G0 phase is also callled restinfg phase or non deviding phase .
Prphase:chromosome condensation and nuclear envelop breakdown takes place then comes
metaphase :where chromosome alignment takes place at the ceter .
anaphase :sister chromosome saparate and move to opposite side then comes last phase called
telophase:where chromosome decondence and neuclear envelop is formed around them
