Tathagata Dasgupta

As an experienced freelance leader in the research industry, I am driven by data, strategy, innovation, results, and capacity building. My 28-year professional career includes interdisciplinary work in various aspects of research, monitoring and evaluation, and capacity building. I have considerable experience in overall project management, implementation, coordination, management, and monitoring of large-scale and multi-state studies in the areas of health, nutrition, water and sanitation, and rural development. I have been the team leader/project coordinator for more than 200 studies, and I have extensively travelled in most of India's states and worked in several countries across the globe. I am currently working as a freelance consultant in capacity building in monitoring and evaluation, artificial intelligence, and data analytics, including multivariate analysis and quantitative and qualitative analysis. I have also worked in the recent past on research projects for the Government of India, NITI Aayog, BMGF, and RIF as a senior advisor. I was with Sambodhi Capacity Building and Learning Institute (SCLI) as a senior consultant till September 2005. In this role, I support Sambodhi in executing various research projects. I also provide training to various working professionals across the globe in multiple 16–17-week courses like Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning for Development Professionals (MEL4DP), Data Insights and Public Policy for Development Professionals (DIP4DP), and AI for Public Policy (AIPL). I have also worked with the Government of Meghalaya in a series of trainings for the capacity development of the State Government. Officials.
