Abhijeet Sengupta

I am Abhijeet Sengupta, a teacher with around 20 years of experience in education. I teach English, Social Science, and EVS to students from Class 1 to Class 9 on UrbanPro. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with students from different age groups, learning levels, and academic backgrounds. This experience has helped me understand that every student has a unique way of learning, and I believe that effective teaching begins with understanding the individual needs of the learner.

I have completed my Master of Arts (M.A.), which has provided me with a strong academic foundation and supported my teaching in subjects such as English and Social Science. My educational background, combined with my extensive teaching experience, enables me to explain concepts in a clear and structured manner. I focus on helping students develop a strong understanding of their subjects rather than simply memorising information for examinations.

My professional journey has given me valuable exposure to different aspects of education and student development. I have also gained experience through my association with the IAF, where I had the opportunity to teach various subjects and guide students. I was also involved in providing guidance and counselling, which helped me understand students beyond their academic performance. This experience taught me the importance of patience, communication, discipline, and individual attention when working with learners.

Over the years, I have developed a teaching approach that is flexible and centred around the student's requirements. Before planning lessons, I try to understand the student's current level, areas of difficulty, learning pace, and academic objectives. I then adapt my teaching methods accordingly. I use a structured and interactive approach and encourage students to participate actively, ask questions, and share their doubts so that the learning process remains engaging and productive.

While teaching English, I focus on helping students strengthen their language fundamentals, comprehension, vocabulary, and overall ability to communicate effectively. In Social Science, I aim to make concepts easier to understand by connecting topics with real-life situations, examples, and events. For EVS students, I use practical examples and familiar situations to help them understand the concepts around them. My goal across all subjects is to make learning simple, meaningful, and interesting.

I conduct both individual and group classes, both online and offline, depending on the student's requirements and convenience. I also use PPT presentations and a digital whiteboard to make my online classes more organised and interactive. I use explanations, questions, discussions, examples, and activities wherever appropriate. I believe that students learn better when they are actively involved in the lesson rather than being passive listeners.

With around two decades of experience in teaching and student guidance, I understand the importance of creating a positive and comfortable learning environment. I encourage students to express their doubts freely and do not hesitate to revisit a concept when they need additional clarification. I believe that every student can improve with the right guidance, consistent practice, and personalised attention.

My aim as a teacher is to help students build strong academic foundations while also developing confidence, curiosity, and independent learning skills. Whether a student needs support with school subjects, help understanding difficult concepts, or regular academic guidance, I try to provide a structured and supportive learning experience. My extensive experience, combined with my practical and student-focused approach, allows me to guide learners effectively and help them work towards their academic goals.
