The best way to engagae a student during class is to spark their curiosity. When you are starting a chapter then don't just begin with story ask related questions or related concepts to ground down the concepts in kids mind. Kids are at their full potential when they learn fron their heart with enjoyment. So, I thought the aim is to inculcate love towads learning.
These techniques may help:-
1. Ask questions. Make them answer with their own potential.
2. Consistent learning. Suppose you are teaching about phonics then make realize the sound on daily basis so that kid can process it.
3. Intersection of cartoons and learning. Use examples of their favourite cartoon character.
I hope these techniques may help.
