AWS and Azure both are good. Recently We were looking for ADFS SSO for .Net MVC application. We were exploring more on these two which can provide this AD SSO. AWS can be into on premises.

You should start with SQL Server 2012 then learn C# 5.0, then learn ASP.NET 4.5 and ASP.NEt MVC 5.0, jQuery and Angular JS if you like ASP.NET. If you don't like ASP.NET, then learn WPF.
