As this is specific to The Official Microsoft ASP.NET Site I'd like to share my views. In recent 3–4 years MVC is booming in market and in latest addition to that is Microsoft ASP.NET core. As per reviews core is 10 times faster than traditional one. But core is complete rewrite of framework so people have not yet adapted the change in existing applications. But for new development, organisations have started choosing core over MVC. read less

why we are using MVC instead of ASP.Net
MVC is not replacement of ASP.net but it is used along with ASP.net. It is architectural pattern with no code behind, no RAD controls, no ViewState, no ASP.net page life cycle etc to reduce burden on server and improve performance of webforms.
