Many Popular Database vendors have a database driver available for .NET framework. Their is a very huge and enthusiastic open source community which provides third party drivers for databases whose vendor doesn't support .NET framework. Also, if the database supports ODBC then you can use ODBC Drivers to connect to database with asp.net web application. To name a few, Microsoft’s MSSQL MySQL MariaDB (since it is compatible with MySQL) MongoDB Oracle IBM DB2 DocumentDB read less
