Shatakshi

I am a practicing advocate in Delhi at Trust Legal, Advocates & Consultants, with hands-on experience in arbitration law, consumer law, civil law, and criminal law, along with the procedures that govern each of these areas. My work has taken me before forums such as the Delhi High Court, District Courts, consumer commissions, the National Green Tribunal, labour courts, and arbitral tribunals, giving me practical exposure to how law is actually applied and argued in real proceedings, rather than just how it reads in a book. Alongside practice, I have prepared extensively for the judiciary and intend to continue this preparation. This has given me a strong hold on subjects such as the Constitution, Arbitration law, the CPC, Property law, Contract law, the Specific Relief Act, and criminal laws, particularly the BNS and BNSS. Combining intensive judiciary preparation with real courtroom practice has allowed me to build a solid grasp of both the substantive and procedural sides of law, which I believe is essential for teaching it well. For me, teaching is a way of deepening my own understanding, since explaining a concept forces me to connect the law as written with how it actually plays out in practice, and that connection is what makes a subject click for a student. I have previously been part of a legal aid committee, where I helped impart legal education to children, and I regularly conduct POSH training sessions to help people understand the laws around women's safety at the workplace. These experiences, along with academic work such as research paper presentations, debates, and moot court competitions during law school, including a research paper on human rights protections that won first place and an article published in BW Businessworld, have all helped sharpen my ability to communicate legal concepts clearly and confidently. This combination of active practice, judiciary-level preparation, and a genuine interest in teaching and mentoring is what I would bring to a role as a law tutor.
