Here’s the teaching experience description for ISO 27001 & ISO 27002: My engagement with ISO 27001 and ISO 27002 stems from hands-on implementation work rather than classroom theory alone. As Senior Manager – Enterprise Operations & Governance at a leading Chartered Accountancy firm, I have been directly involved in information security compliance, vendor audits, and control framework design aligned to ISO 27001 principles. I have led a comprehensive InfoSec vendor audit involving 74 observations across IT, HR, Admin, and BCP domains — assessing controls around access management, clear desk policy, incident management, data classification, and business continuity. This work required deep application of ISO 27001 Annex A controls and ISO 27002 implementation guidance. My teaching approach bridges the gap between the standard’s requirements and real-world applicability. I help learners understand not just what the clauses say, but how to implement, evidence, and audit them in an organizational context. Key areas I cover include risk assessment methodology, Statement of Applicability, ISMS documentation, control selection rationale, and audit readiness. With a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt background, I also bring a process-discipline lens to information security — helping learners see ISMS as a management system, not just a compliance checklist. This is particularly valuable for professionals preparing for Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor certifications.
