I have two years of experience as a Teach For India Fellow, where I worked as an educator and supported students in developing social-emotional skills. As part of my work, I designed and facilitated learning experiences focused on emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, communication, relationship building and responsible decision making. I used interactive and activity-based methods to help students understand their emotions, recognise emotions in others, respond to different situations thoughtfully and build healthier interpersonal relationships. My approach involved discussions, reflection activities, role plays, real life scenarios and collaborative exercises that encouraged students to apply these skills in their everyday lives. This experience has helped me develop a practical and learner-centred approach to teaching emotional intelligence, with a focus on helping students become more self-aware, empathetic and confident in navigating social and interpersonal situations.
