Hello, I’m Preeti Thapliyal, a dedicated Vocal Hindustani Classical Music teacher with over 18 years of teaching experience. Music has been an integral part of my life, and I take great pride in guiding students on their journey of learning classical music with discipline, depth, and passion.

I hold a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Music, completed with First Class, and I am also qualified as Sangeet Visharad and Sangeet Shiromani. My academic training, combined with years of practical experience, has given me a strong foundation in Hindustani Classical Music, which I pass on to my students through structured and traditional methods.

Over the years, I have taught students of various age groups and learning levels, ranging from complete beginners to advanced learners. I have trained students for academic music examinations, competitions, and stage performances, ensuring they develop confidence along with technical and musical excellence.

My teaching focuses strongly on riyaz, voice culture, and classical fundamentals. I believe that a strong base is essential for long-term growth in classical music. Each lesson is designed to help students improve their sur, taal, voice control, and overall musical expression in a gradual and effective manner.

In addition to teaching, I am a senior member of the Gandharva Choir and have actively represented my musical talent in various competitions. One of my proudest achievements was securing first place in the inaugural Uttarakhand Idol competition, which further strengthened my performance experience and understanding of stage presence.

I conduct both online and offline classes, depending on the student’s preference. My sessions are available as individual or small group classes, typically lasting 45 to 60 minutes, allowing me to give focused attention while maintaining a comfortable learning pace.

I follow a structured and personalized lesson plan, with a strong emphasis on practical learning. My classes are interactive and practice-oriented, with regular feedback, guided riyaz, and performance-based training to help students steadily progress and refine their skills.

For me, teaching Hindustani Classical Music is not just about learning compositions—it is about nurturing discipline, expression, and a lifelong connection with music. I am committed to supporting my students at every stage of their musical journey and helping them grow into confident and well-grounded vocalists.
