I have 13 years experience teaching in the top performing all girls all ability secondary school in Northern Ireland. I have been head of the health, social care, Psychology and sociology department for the past 9 years. I have been teaching GCSE, A LEVEL and BTEC Health and social care as well as psychology and Sociology modules. My department out performs similar departments from other schools throughout northern Ireland including grammar schools. In 2017 and 2018 my department achieved 100% A*-C in GCSE, 100% A*-C AS LEVEL, 100% A*-C A LEVEL and 100% A*-C BTEC Level 2 and 3.
When teaching, I take a friendly, mutually respectful and calm approach. I set high, realistic, achievable goals and targets for pupils and monitor and track progress throughout. I expect the best and encourage and nurture pupils to do their best. I am supportive and available when help is needed.
