On 30 March 1965, Karan Singh became the first Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. But now when an act passed in August 2019 (Article 370 abolished), the state of Jammu and Kashmir reorganized into two union territories; 'Jammu and Kashmir' and 'Ladakh' on 31 October 2019. So recently 'Girish Chandra Murmu' became the Governor of UT Jammu and Kashmir.
