Dhananjay Karvir Thakare is dedicated social and environmental activist. He has made a project ‘Vanrai’ in his school and now it is green zone in his town. He also has participated in ‘National Children Science Congress 2005’ in which he presented a project on water management which was very successful and also it was great impact on the local community. He implemented that project at about 3 months in the local community. He also arranged rallies and tree processions in his town which was useful for Environmental Literacy and Environmental Awareness in the society. He has won and participated in many state level competitions like Debate, Drama, Oratory, General knowledge, Dance, Handwriting, Handcrafting, Poster, Poetry, Essay writing etc. and also National level competitions like classical singing,
Olympiads and Project Presentations. He is now stepping towards Sangeet Visharada, Hindi Visharada and Sanskrit Visharada which is graduation in those fields.
For his activities in the art field he was awarded by ‘Vidarbha Gaurav Puraskar 2009’. He was awarded as a best student by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati by Shri. Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Cabinet Minister, Government of Maharashtra. For his all-rounder work in art, environmental, social and educational field, he was awarded by National Youth Award 2008-09 which was given by Ministry of Youth
Affairs and Sports, Government of India on the occasion of National Youth Day in National Youth Festival 2010 at Bhubaneswar in Orissa. He is the youngest awardee till the history of this award who got this opportunity at the age of 18. Only 24 candidates were selected from all over the India and only one from Maharashtra.
He was invited in ‘International Conference for Climate Change 2010’ which was arranged by British Council, The Energy and Resources Institute and Delhi Sustainable Development Summit. For this conference, only 150 candidates were selected from all over the world. He was nominated for ‘International Climate Champion 2010’ by British High Commission for his innovative project on
environment. For this team, candidates are selected from 60 countries of the world. He is ‘Indian Youth Ambassador to China 2010’ and participated in ‘International Youth Exchange Programme 2010’ held in China Republic during 17 to 26 July 2010 in 3 different states, Shanghai, Hefei and Chongqing. This programme was arranged by Prime Minister of India and President of China Republic for discussion on cultural and political relations of both countries. He was invited as a guest in ‘Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Chennai, Tamilnadu’ on 3 nominated as ‘Commonwealth Country Representative of Asia Region from India. He was also nominated for ‘Training Programme for Young Leaders of India for Information and Communication Technology’ arranged by Japan International Co-operation Agency in which only 23 engineering student were selected from all over the India. He also participated in ‘1during 12 to 14 January 2011.
His book on ‘National and International Schemes and Programmes for Youth’ was published in 2 Indian Student Parliament 2012 on 10 January 2012 by Mr. Ajay Maken, Union Minister of States for Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Mr. R.A. Mashelkar, Former Director General CSIR, Prof. Dr. V.D. Karad, Founder President, MIT Group of Institutions, Mr. Rahul Karad, Executive Director, MIT Group of Institutions, Mr. Rajesh Tope, Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, Mr. Padmakar Valvi, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Maharashtra, Mr. Liam Burns, 3rd Foundation Day Celebration. He was 1st Parliament of Indian Student Council Leaders 2011’ President, National Student Union, United Kingdom, Mr. Mohansingh Rajpal, Mayor of Pune and many more. Also his two other books on for the welfare of students and rural area are going to published in this year. He was nominated for International Work Life Balance Award 2012, Milan, Italy.
He is recipient of fellowship of SPIC MACAY for GURUKUL PROGRAMME 2012 organized by Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness the Dalai Lama during 5 June- 7 July 2012 in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, India. In this month long programme 23 students were selected from all over India. In this programme they studied Buddhist Philosophy, Meditation, Thangka Painting and Wooden Carving and also visited to many organizations and institutions of Tibetan Government in Exile. Also they were taught by His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s special teachings.
For his innovative handwriting techniques he was called to Cambridge University, London, UK. A unique personality who got special training under world’s most renowned figures such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Nobel Peace Prize winner and Leader of Tibetan Buddhism, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, Founder Art of Living and Mrs. Lene Handberg, Director, Tarab Ling Institute, Denmark.
He is founder president of ‘Sangharsha Yuva Abhiyan’ which is global activism for the young generation. He is now running campaigns against suicide of farmers, Illiteracy, Female Infanticide, malnutrition,
tobacco and drug abuse etc. Presently, he is President of Sangharsha Yuva Abhiyan (SAYA), Vice-President of Chikhali Anti-Tobacco Organisation (CATO) and Secretary of Karvir Foundation Chikhali (KFC).
He has guided thousands of people from small children to youths and retired, old age people and also to physically and mentally challenged people. He continued his work till today.
