Teaching Experience in detail in Fashion CAD Training

I have over 22 years of teaching experience in Fashion Design, Fashion CAD, and Digital Design, with extensive experience training students in digital design tools and their practical application across the fashion, textile, communication, and product design industries. My teaching combines technical software skills with creative design thinking, enabling students to develop both their digital proficiency and their understanding of professional design processes. I have trained students in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After Effects, Figma, Blender 3D, Rhino, and CLO 3D for a wide range of fashion and design applications. These include fashion illustration, technical flats, garment detailing, textile and surface design, print and motif development, colourways, seamless repeats, placement prints, digital garment development, 3D visualization, and presentation of fashion collections. I also teach Product Design students, using digital tools for design development, visual communication, product presentation, and creative problem-solving. For Fashion Communication students, I teach branding and identity development, including logo design, visual identity, typography, layout, graphic communication, and digital brand presentations. My Fashion CAD teaching covers the complete digital design process, including creating and manipulating vector artwork, developing textile motifs and patterns, constructing seamless repeats, creating stripes and checks, developing colour palettes, preparing print layouts, creating technical garment details, and digitally presenting fashion and textile concepts. Through CLO 3D, Blender, and Rhino, I also teach students to explore three-dimensional garment and product development, digital visualization, form, construction, and presentation. This enables students to understand how traditional design concepts can be translated into modern digital and 3D workflows. Over the years, I have worked with students at different levels and adapt my teaching according to their individual skill levels and learning objectives. My methodology is practical and hands-on, with clear demonstrations, guided exercises, and project-based learning. I focus on helping students build confidence and become independent in using CAD and digital design software. I combine my knowledge of fashion, textiles, graphics, branding, product design, and digital technology to help students understand not only how to use software, but how to apply it creatively and effectively to develop professional, industry-relevant design outcomes.
