Concept- 1 km/hr = 1000/(60x60)m/s =( 5/18 )m/s ( Always convert all quantities into same unit) (prefer SI Units) Given- u = 80km/hr = (80x 5)/18 m/s, v= 60km/hr=( 60x 5) /18 m/s, t= 5 sec Solution- since V=u+at ∴ a= (v-u) /t = ÷ 5 Take 5/18 common =(5/18) ÷5 Numerator... ...more

Here minus sign indicates that acceleration is negative I. e it is Retardation or Velocity is decreasing with time

What is the quantity which is measured by the area occupied below the velocity−time graph?

Displacement Concept- to find the area from any graph, multiply the quantities given on X and Y axis.. And you will get the answer. Here Velocity x Time = Displacement
