C is NOT a Machine Independent Language. The compiled are different for different OS even written programmer are same. It create different executable binary as per OS and processor Architecture. C is NOT a Machine Independent Language. The compiled are different for different OS even written programmer are same. It create different executable binary as per OS and processor Architecture. That's why compiled C code can not be executed another machine unless OS and processor Architecture are same. There are few cross compiler which compiles the code for another machine. The cross compiler is used develop program for embedded systems. On the other hand JAVA is machine independent language. JAVA compiled code (called byte code) can be run on any machine.

What is #line used for?

# is used for pre-processor directive i.e, to include header(precompiled), and define macro( to use the name as is). In both case, it not compiled while compiling the source but used at run time as it is.

Why we use 'include stdio.h'?

Including any header file means, you want to use the functions or variables defined in that header. Stdio.h is inbuilt header file which comes with the compiler which has many function declared, like getc, putc, printf, scan, fread, fwrite, malloc, and many more... Including any header file means, you want to use the functions or variables defined in that header. Stdio.h is inbuilt header file which comes with the compiler which has many function declared, like getc, putc, printf, scan, fread, fwrite, malloc, and many more... The corresponding definition of function is already compiled and available in library (glibc etc). Since the library is already compiled, we include the header as preprocessor directives (means it will not compile again) and we can use its function without writing it.

C is NOT a Machine Independent Language. The compiled are different for different OS even written programmer are same. It create different executable binary as per OS and processor Architecture. That's why compiled C code can not be executed another machine unless OS and processor Architecture are same. There are few cross compiler which compiles the code for another machine. The cross compiler is used develop program for embedded systems. On the other hand JAVA is machine independent language. JAVA compiled code (called byte code) can be run on any machine.
