Abhishek Joshi

Professional Qualification:

Completed a 5-year Degree/Diploma course from Bhatkhande Vishwavidyalaya, Lucknow.

Currently pursuing BA (Hons.) in Percussion Music (Tabla) from the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts, University of Delhi.

Receiving training under the guidance of Ustad Parvez Hussain Ji, a renowned tabla maestro of the Ajrada Gharana.


Musical Training and Experience:

5 years of formal training at Bhatkhande Vishwavidyalaya.

1.5 years of training at the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts, University of Delhi, and under Guru Ustad Parvez Hussain Ji.


Achievements and Performances:

National Tabla Player: Performed at the National Youth Festival.

Secured 3rd position in the National Tabla Competition organized by Dev Sanskriti Vidyalaya in 2021.

Received the "Nritya Samrat Pt. Uday Shankar" and "Pt. Dhruvtara Joshi Samman" in 2022 from the Mohan Upreti Lok Sanskriti Kala Avam Vigyan Shodh Samiti.

Honoured by the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh Ji, and IPS/ADG Mr Amit Sinha Ji on 14th November 2024.


I am passionate about advancing my skills in tabla and furthering my contribution to Hindustani classical music. I believe this scholarship will provide me with invaluable support to enhance my training and opportunities in this field.
