Lesson Posted on 28/06/2021 Learn Astrology and Occult Science
Aarch Krishna
I am a Vedic astrologer. I learnt astrology from a reputed institute and many teachers. Now I'm teaching...
Houses and Signs
Planets represent concentrations of life force. Their placement in different houses of the horoscope represents the exertion of that life force in those areas represented by their occupation. The signs or rashis have their specific characteristics. Planets occupying specific signs get influenced by the nature of those sign.
Extent of concentration
Planets may group in only a few houses of the horoscope, causing tremendous concentration of energy in a limited area. The intensity of expression of such energy is generally high, but this occurs at the expense of some other areas of the horoscope which find poor expression.
The concentration of energy thus represents an imbalance. A spread of planets over a wide area of the horoscope represents a greater balance.
Visible and Invisible areas
Houses one to seven of a horoscope represent the dark or the invisible area of the horoscope.
Planetary concentrations in this area indicate that the person tends to remain in oblivion or that his activities don't get fully exposed to the world. Houses seven to one represent the luminous or the visible area of the horoscope. The concentration of life force in this area makes one famous, and well known, and the various activities of the native find exposure.
Adverse houses
Certain adverse houses of the horoscope, like the sixth or the eighth or the twelfth, have been condemned by the classical astrologers. With little research to his credit in these areas, the modern astrologer considers these as the morbid areas. These houses, however, have their specific meanings, not necessarily adverse, which must also be considered when analyzing concentrations of life force in these areas.
Mutual planetary relations
The energy represented by planets hds a freer expression if they are mutually harmoniously placed. Or example, planets placed in 3/11 or 5/9 from each other prove eicial, while those placed 2/12 or 6/8 from each other indicate obstacles and struggles. According to Varahamihira, strong planets (i.e., those in their own or Moolatrikona signs or exaltation), when placed in mutually Kendra positions, become representatives of each other and assert their good or bad influence extraordinarily.
The dasha scheme
While it has been emphasized that the Nabhasa yogas are not dependant upon the order of dasha in a horoscope, their benefic and malefic propensities manifest more freely if the operating dashas are also in harmony with their indications.
Major Categories of the Nabhasa Yogas
The four major categories of the Nabhasa yogas are as under:
Dwiswabhava rashis or signs.
Note: The total variations of Aakriti yogas (twenty-three in number) added to those of the Sankhya yogas (one hundred and twenty-seven in all) give us a total of one hundred and fifty types of yogas for each Lagna.
For the twelve Lagnas, the number would be eighteen hundred (150 x 12 =1800). This total does not include the Aashraya and the Dala yogas.
