Content writer is broad term under which technical writing comes. Technical writing varies from organization to organization. You may write about gadget, software or any manual.

Yes and No. Writing Skills are the basic requirements for becoming a technical writer, but if you are ready to understand the complexities of technical world (say a newly developed software) and if you are a good learner, you can become a technical writer too.

Similar, yes! But not the same. Technical writing is more "technical", as the name suggests. You cannot elaborate on the copy without a good understanding and knowledge of a given topic. It requires you to have 100% knowledge of the technical term, aspect or subject you're writing about.

Similar to an extent yes, but more data and specs driven which actually makes it easy to be penned down. The problem in most of the content generation is data, but in technical writing data research is easy and can be obtained from a lot of sources.
