Force is given by cross product F = q(v x B), hence F and v, and F and B are two perpendicular pairs.

The above equation is a simplified version of F = q (v X B). Where v and B are vectors and q is a scalar. As you know any vector has magnitude and direction whereas scalars have only magnitude. Whenever there is a cross product between two vectors then the direction of resultant vector is perpendicular...

The above equation is a simplified version of F = q (v X B). Where v and B are vectors and q is a scalar. As you know any vector has magnitude and direction whereas scalars have only magnitude. Whenever there is a cross product between two vectors then the direction of resultant vector is perpendicular to the plane formed by two vectors whose cross product is carried out. So, F as a vector would be perpendicular to both v and B vector. But the equation given is for the magnitude of F not the direction. So, strictly speaking the answer would be none of these. Now, if the question has multiple answers then you will go with F and v and F and B. Whereas if it has single answer then go with none of these. read less

Also q being a scalar has no effect on the direction of F
