Total no. of letters - 13 , repeated letters- M 2 times, A 2 times , I 2 times , S 4 times . number of ways to arrange = 13 ! / (2 ! 2 ! 4 ! 2 ! )

That they are confused why we are dividing with some number here... Let me clear it... I am taking simple example... "eggle" here we can see there are five letters. If the letters were different the answer would be 5! simply but here 2 letters e's are identical. If I am taking five factorial we have repeated the word many times and that is how many times a particular letter occurred in the word but we have one letters 2! times hence we are dividing 5! by 2!...Same logic can be extended...I hope you understand... How many ways are there to arrange the letters in the word "garden" with the vowels in alphabetical order?
As there are only 2 vowels, there will be equal no. of cases with 'a' before 'e' and 'a' after 'e'. So required no. of arrangements = 6!/2 = 360.
