The internal energy is a function of temperature only, i.e., it depends on temperature only, for an ideal gas. And, internal energy is a state function, which means that it depends only on the iitil state and the final state of the system, doesn't depend on the path taken. Now, in an isothermal process, the temperature remains constant, so the initial and final temperature is the same, and hence the initial and final internal energy is also the same(since it depends only on temp.). Therefore, the change in internal energy during an isothermal process is zero. It doesn't change, remains constant, the same. Therefore, answer is becomes zero. read less

why current is scalar quantity but current-density a vector ?
Current is not a scalar quantity....its a tensor quantity as its direction is fixed. Current density is current per unit area and as area is a vector quantity so is the current density.
