In a house, many electrical appliances that have to run independent of each other. If one appliance is turned on or off it should not affect the other appliances. This is not possible if all the appliances were connected in a series arrangement as there would be one switch that either switches all of them on or off. 2. In parallel circuit arrangement we get the same voltage for all circuits as at mains. As all the electrical appliances are designed for a standard nominal voltage, this is the only arrangement which ensure the required voltage to appliances at home read less

In parallel circuits, each electrical appliance gets the same voltage (220V) as that of the power supply line. 4. In the parallel connection of electrical appliances, the overall resistance of the household circuit is reduced due to which the current from the power supply is high. 5. Parallel circuits also allow components to be added in the circuit without changing the voltage. read less

because when circuits are connected in series, if the current passage stops at one point, the flow of the current further doesnt happen resulting in none of the appliances working. When connected parallelly current flow to only one appliance is obstructed and the rest work fine.

Parallel circuits provide constant voltage throughout the circuit.if one of the element gets fused it doesnt affect other elements in the circuit.so parallel connection is used in household circuit.

To reduce the amount of current loss while passing through the circuit.
